About

The Minimum Wage Workers' Union is a grassroots organization seeking a "living wage" for those who are employed in the United States of America. Our goal is a steep increase in the wages afforded to workers at or near minimum-wage levels in order to support a person's basic needs, without need for public assistance or debt crisis, when working full-time. It is our position that current minimum-wage standards are insufficient, perpetuate poverty, and that a higher minimum wage would stimulate the economy while reducing taxpayer burden for government subsidized social services.

We adhere to the old saying...

"An honest day's work, for an honest day's pay."

  1. I totally agree that minimum wage needs to be raised dramatically. Even at $15 an hour, plus my income of $40/hr part time, we still struggle to pay for our basic needs, particularly in winter, when heating costs are overwhelming. We pay $550/ mo rent, have no car, and little debt compared to the agerage american, yet still struggle. We have no benefits, and I pay exhorbitant amounts of money for maintaining my certifications and licensing to allow me to continue working as a massage therapist. There is a major imbalance of wealthy and lower income families in this country, and there is no excuse for this. What progress have we made in this century?

    1. Although we have made many advancements in technological wizardry, it has often been to the detriment of the American worker. All of the numbers show NEGATIVE advancement for the working class. A steady decrease in the standard of living, with work output increasing from 400-600%.
